House Democrats Urge Disclosure of Epstein Files
They emphasized the need for complete transparency regarding the case.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, speaking to reporters at Capitol Hill, stated, "The American people deserve to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth as it relates to this whole sordid Jeffrey Epstein matter."
He pointed fingers at President Donald Trump, his Attorney General Pam Bondi, and what he described as “MAGA extremists,” accusing them of escalating controversy around the Epstein situation for an extended period.
Jeffries further suggested that “the chickens are coming home to roost,” questioning whether the Trump administration and the Department of Justice were concealing critical information.
"What are you hiding?" he asked pointedly.
He challenged officials to demonstrate openness if there was nothing to conceal. "If you are not hiding anything, prove that to the American people," he stated.
He argued that if a cover-up was indeed taking place — a belief held by “many of Donald Trump’s MAGA supporters” — then it was Congress’s obligation to investigate and bring the facts to light.
Jeffries laid out two possible scenarios: either Trump and Bondi had "intentionally lied" about the Epstein documents for years, or they were "engaging in a cover-up."
He concluded by asserting that it is the duty of Congress, working across party lines, to seek out the truth and deliver accountability.
"So it’s Congress’s responsibility, in a bipartisan way, to ask the questions and try to get answers on behalf of the American people," he declared.
